An Overview of Our Design Build Process

If you’ve never remodeled before or are taking on a big project, you may feel a bit nervous. Between the large expense and the excitement of anticipating your finished remodel, it’s hard not to feel a little apprehensive.  How do we start? How long will it take? The challenges presented can seem overwhelming.  Picking an experienced design and remodeling company and knowing the process can help calm your fears and make your remodeling a fun, enjoyable experience.

Our Process

PLANNING STAGE

STEP ONE
INITIAL CONTACT

By phone or email, our staff will discuss your project and basic budget.  We collect contact information and set an in-home appointment.

STEP TWO
FIRST IN-HOME MEETING

Our designer will look at the project area, discuss your project goals, vision budget feasibility, and answer your questions.

STEP THREE
WRITTEN DESIGN PROPOSAL

We prepare a written outline of the costs, scope of work and desired services in the design stage for your approval.

DESIGN STAGE

STEP FOUR
ON-SITE SURVEY

This is the beginning of the design stage.  We explore, measure and photograph the existing home conditions.

STEP FIVE
SCHEMATIC DESIGN

After considering the zoning and building codes, the fun begins.  We draw schematic designs so you can see and consider the possibilities.

STEP SIX
CONSTRUCTION QUOTE

We make itemized working specifications, realistic allowances, and present the cost quote for construction.

STEP SEVEN
SIGN THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT

After the details are figured out and any revisions completed, it’s time to sign a fixed cost written contract. Financing is arranged.

CONSTRUCTION STAGE

STEP EIGHT
CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS

Construction drawings are rendered and building permit process started.

STEP NINE
PRE-START MEETING

Final drawings are approved.  Selections are reviewed. Schedules are discussed and job-site access is arranged.

STEP TEN
CONSTRUCTION

Special orders are placed.  Material deliveries begin, man power Is allocated and work is under way.  Budget, quality and schedule are managed.

STEP ELEVEN
COMPLETION

Final building permit inspections are finished. Final walk thru with you is done. Final payment is made.  Warranty period begins.

STEP TWELVE
TOUCH-UP

Final touch-ups are completed.  Your dreams are reality.
